Andy Sax

Andy Sax is one of UK’s busiest saxophonists. He has worked with many well-known artists and has played worldwide.

Andy played for Plan B upon the release of his hugely successful album, ‘The Defamation Of Strickland Banks’ and has played at a host of well-known venues and festivals including Glastonbury, Royal Festival Hall, Radio 1’s Big Weekend and Camden’s Roundhouse. He has also played on a number of TV shows including Later Live with Jools Holland and Alan Carr’s ‘Chatty Man’. Andy and his brother Alek are seen as Russian gangsters in Plan B's directorial debut 'ill Manors'.

Andy first started to work as a professional session musician and night club saxophonist whilst studying for his music degree at Birmingham Conservatoire. By 2006 he had truly established himself on the international club scene. He has since performed with the likes of Judge Jules, Danny Howard, Kissy Sell Out, Grant Nelson, Graeme Park, Danny Rampling, Leroy Styles, Marshall Jefferson, Seamus Haji, Hoxton Whores, Jeremy Healy, CJ Mackintosh, Seb Fontaine, Norman Jay, Carnao Beats, Brandon Block, Alex P and was one of the original Hed Kandi resident performers in the early 00’s.

Andy is now firmly back on the club scene whilst dedicating the rest of his time on developing his own up and coming projects. Andy is a member and co-founder of 1EYE, a Birmingham reggae band who recently released their debut album 'Worries & Trouble' in October 2016. 1EYE are blessed to have recorded with UK reggae legends Tippa Irie, Michael Grant from Musical Youth and Apache Indian.
